Joanna Strober is the managing director of Private Equity of Sterling Stamos, a private investment management firm that invests globally using an endowment approach to asset allocation.
Strober has spent more than 20 years making direct investments in private equity and venture capital.
Before joining Sterling Stamos, Strober was managing director at Symphony Technology Group, a technology buyout fund with an emphasis on software and software services, including overseas outsourcing opportunities. Previously, she was a general partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, where she invested in software and Internet companies.
Strober earned a BA in Political Science from University of Pennsylvania, and a JD from the University of California at Los Angeles. She lives in Los Altos Hills with her husband, Jason, and three children.
Meers is also co-author of Getting to 50-50, a book about men and women finding common ground and success together—so women can enjoy full careers and men can enjoy full parenthood. The book launched on the “Today” show in 2009 and has been featured in many publications including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Fortune.
