As you know, I’m the author of the book about how my life profoundly transformed when I began listening to my intuition. This show is designed to help you do the same.

Today’s guest: Lisa Jacovsky, an early intervention therapist for children with autism

Our topic: How to help kids with autism thrive

About our guest: Lisa Jacovsky currently lives in her hometown of North Brunswick, NJ, where works as a Child Development Specialist with Early Intervention. In her job she is able to help children under the age of 3 with cognitive and developmental delays, sometimes with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has been working in the field of applied behavior analysis for eight years and this is where she had inspiration for writing her very first series, Let’s Talk! Her hopes for this series are to simply inspire families and their children to be open to anyone no matter their differences. There will be six books in the series. Lisa is also working on her second master’s degree in school psychology to receive her license. Writing has taken her to this level, and she is excited for the possibilities this degree will bring her. Her research interests include social anxiety, mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She is excited to see where her writing and research will take her next. Learn more at www.lisajayauthor.com.

About Let’s Talk Book 1, A story of Autism and Friendship: Harper, a seven-year-old little girl that is typically developing, loves going to the pool. One day when she gets to the pool, she meets a new friend, a little girl who is also seven years old. She has no idea that this friend is any different than her. All Harper knows is she has a new friend that wants to play in her tube with her. They both love to swim at the pool and want to play together however, Emma has little communication skills. Emma can make sounds and not words and flaps her hands when she is excited. When Harper realizes she cannot communicate with her new friend she becomes determined to find a way to. In talking to her mom, Harper is told that Emma has Autism Spectrum Disorder. Determined to not let this stand in the way of her new friendship she becomes determined to learn how to communicate with Emma. She begins to learn about Autism and asks Emma’s mom to show her the different ways she can communicate with her new friend. Harper becomes excited to begin to use her new tools to communicate with Emma. The two become inseparable from that day on. Harper introduces Emma to all her friends and teaches them how to communicate with her. Harper and Emma become the center of their circle of friends and begin to have many more adventures together. Click here to buy the book.

As you know, I’m the author of the book about how my life profoundly transformed when I began listening to my intuition. This show is designed to help you do the same.

Today’s guest: Ellen Feldman, author, psychotherapist, lawyer, and mother

Our topic: A Path of Oneness: Finding All That Is Was and Will Be Inside of You

Ellen shares: Like so many of you, I have experienced the pain of loss and the confusion that accompanies painful life experiences. What I have learned, however, is that our painful experiences can act as a springboard to growth. I am, first and foremost, committed to helping others to learn to see the light through the darkness in their life. Helping others to transform to live a life of joy, connection, purpose, and abundance is my mission. I wrote A Path of Oneness with that mission in mind. I wrote the book for you – yes, YOU – to arm you with a new perspective and tools to help you to transform your life for the better. Reach out to me, I would love to have a relationship with you. Learn more at EllenKFeldman.com.

About A Path of Oneness: What if you believed that you are powerful, of the same universal energy that is God, and connected to everyone and everything in a way that allows you to create your reality? How would you live differently? Would you live a life that is more abundant? Would you treat yourself—or others—differently? Would you listen to that voice inside a little closer? The very essence of your being is that you are One with everything and everyone. That idea is at the heart of Buddhism, Kabbalistic Judaism, and, in some way, all major world religions. On a fundamental level, you know you are one with others because their pain and joy are your pain and joy. A Path of Oneness, a channeled text, provides clear answers to these questions and builds on the idea that we are all one universal energy, making the case for why we must live our lives reflecting this truth. This book provides a framework for living differently, in accordance with the truth of being One with God, with others, and with the planet. From a place of Oneness, the book sets out a compelling case for why and how the principles that can help the reader on a personal level can be applied to help bring about miracles necessary to sustain life on this planet. Click here to buy the book!

I invite you to tune in for this week’s episode of Discovering My Wings. As a psychotherapist and Reiki master with a private practice blending therapy and energy work, my passion is helping women empower themselves through the voice of their own intuition. On this show, I interview experts around the world, with the goal of helping you hone that deep inner knowing.

Today’s guest: Elizabeth Gillette, LCSW

Our topic: Attachment theories and loving relationships

About Elizabeth: As an attachment specialist, Elizabeth helps her clients develop secure ways of relating and improving their relationships by breaking old patterns and establishing healthy connections with integrity.

In her book, Attachment Theory Workbook for Couples, Elizabeth teaches her readers to become more supportive partners. She writes: “It’s no secret that even the best relationships need to be nurtured. This couples’ workbook offers a new framework, helping you and your partner pinpoint your individual attachment styles to understand their effects on your relationship dynamics.

An explanation of attachment theory—Explore the four attachment styles (anxious, avoidant, disorganized, and secure), and learn how each one forms, their common characteristics, and how to identify your own primary style.

Engaging exercises—Thoughtful prompts and activities help you and your partner develop tools to better connect, from quieting your respective inner critics to spontaneously hugging for 20 seconds.

Relatable scenarios—See how other couples’ attachment styles play out in their relationships to gain insight into your own situation.

Elizabeth says knows this from personal experience. “Relationships used to be deeply painful and anxiety-provoking for me. I was always willing to sacrifice myself to maintain the connection, especially in partnerships. My lack of boundaries led me to intense interpersonal trauma, the kind that lodges itself in your nervous system and takes intentional work to move on from. I was highly skilled at convincing people to be in a relationship with me, even when they didn’t want to be—because it helped me feel valid and whole. That way of being was exhausting. My body and my nervous system couldn’t take it anymore and after a cancer diagnosis in my early 20s, I knew I had to do something differently. A new relationship (with my now partner of more than 10 years) prompted me to dig into my old patterns and make choices that were truly in alignment with who I wanted to be in the world. I know these patterns inside and out, and now I know how to heal our hearts after so many years of feeling not quite good enough and not quite lovable.” Discover more at ElizabethGillette.com.
