The Questions Bar Season 2: Ep17 You won’t want to miss our interview with international powerhouse Andrea Walton, founder of the Concrete Rose Scholarship Foundation
Today on the Questions Bar: Check out Ep17 of the show where we interview women who teach us that inner-knowing, and not taking shit, guides all powerful women to live the life of their dreams!
In our podcast and video show sponsored by Inkandescent Women magazine, we invite you in to listen in on a chat with two girlfriends talking about topics of the day that touch their minds, bodies, spirits, souls, and hearts: AlinaZ in Los Angeles and Hope Katz Gibbs in Washington, DC.
The mission of the show: To share tools and experiences to manage stress and find hope in our lives each and every day. In Season 1, the hosts engaged in some girlfriend therapy as they discussed issues that were challenging them, and found healthy solutions to transform the pain to joy (see some of the topics below).
In Season 2: Every Friday, Alina and Hope bring inspiring guests onto the show and ask them 3 Big Questions to mine deep into their hearts as they tell the stories of their lives:
- What is one miracle you can share to inspire others to believe in miracles when times are hard?
- How do you love yourself, even when you think you don’t look or feel good?
- If you were in charge of the country, what’s the first thing you would do — and why?
This week: We interview Andrea Walton, a seasoned HR executive, published author, and purpose-driven philanthropist committed to building pathways to education for Black and Brown girls around the world. As Founder and CEO of The Concrete Rose Scholarship Foundation, Andrea leads with a deeply personal mission-having once been a teen mom who earned her GED before climbing the ranks to become a Chief People Officer in the biotech and education sectors.
More about Andrea: Since 2020, Andrea has awarded nearly a dozen scholarships under the banner “From GED to MBA,” and recently formalized the Foundation as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. With global partnerships spanning the University of Cape Town and Howard University, the foundation is scaling a bold vision: to eliminate systemic barriers to higher education-one student, one scholarship, and one opportunity at a time. Andrea also leads Concrete Strategies LLC, her HR consulting firm, and hosts the podcast The Table I Built, where she shares unfiltered conversations on leadership, resilience, and equity.
“My work is rooted in the belief that education saves lives. It is true for me, and it is my life’s mission to help others write their own stories. Where we came from creates a foundation. What we do next is up to us.”
